Lip Blush AFTERCARE Instructions
Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching or rubbing your lips immediately after the procedure. This helps prevent infection and ensures proper healing.
Keep the Area Clean: Gently clean the treated area with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and water for the first 7 days. Pat the area dry with a clean, soft cloth or tissue.
Apply Recommended Ointment: Use the provided ointment (Aquaphor) as instructed by your artist. Apply a thin layer to the treated lips to keep them moisturized at all times to promote healing.
Avoid Moisture Exposure: Avoid submerging your lips in water, such as swimming pools, hot tubs, or saunas, for at least one week. Also, refrain from exposing the lips to excessive moisture during showers.
Skip Certain Activities: Avoid activities that may cause excessive sweating, such as strenuous workouts, for a few days after the procedure. Sweat can interfere with the healing process.
Protect from Sunlight: Shield your lips from direct sunlight and UV rays. If going outdoors, use a broad-spectrum lip balm with SPF and consider wearing a wide-brimmed hat.
No Makeup or Lip Products: Avoid applying makeup or other lip products on the treated area for at least a week. This includes lipstick, lip gloss, and any other cosmetic products.
Resist Peeling or Picking: Do not pick at any scabs or peeling skin. Let the healing process occur naturally to avoid scarring or pigment loss.
Attend Follow-Up Appointments: Schedule and attend any follow-up appointments recommended by your artist. This allows them to assess the healing progress and address any concerns.
Be Patient: Understand that the color may appear darker initially and will lighten as the healing process progresses. It may take a few weeks to see the final result.
Cold Sores: Cold sores are extremely common in lip blushing. Any traumatic event to the lips can trigger an outbreak, you must pre-medicate with Acyclovir 5 days before AND 5 days after the treatment to prevent an outbreak.
If you experience any unusual swelling, redness, or signs of infection, contact your artist or seek medical attention promptly.
